Eight Legged Fiend

Eight Legged Fiend

A Poem by Mike L. Smyth

Waiting in the corner, watching intensely

Darkness foreshadowing the entity

As motionless as an inanimate object

Looking for the perfect moment

Muscles tensed, ready to strike

Pure evil gazing through many eyes

Fangs dripping with the poison of death

As all goes silent, all goes silent

Victim unsuspecting and defenseless

The flash of the enemy’s weapon

Cutting down with brute force

Yet feeling only of a pinch

Venom surging through helpless cells

Time left to finish the job

This is good. In fact too good. I can actually feel the spider on me and I HATE SPIDERS.

Great imagery.

Eeek! The imagery is too good here....it gave me chills, especially since I saw one of the wonderful creatures in my basement yesterday!

An excellent, creepy write.

Wow, I truly loved this spooky piece. Many people have such a deep fear of those creepy crawly things! Great write.
