Bliss

Bliss

A Poem by Simon Garriott
"

Just an old poem I wrote while contemplating love and all of the like.

"

I want you to take my hand. Place your trust in me..I know you can.
Let me take you on a little trip to somewhere you've probably never been.
A distant fantastic journey, and we'll never have to cross a single ocean.
This is a place of wonderous emotion and frantic desires,
where fires burn tall as buildings, but they do not sear.
You can hear the legions of seagulls coming in from the sunset over the hills.
Rivers can stand still and there are no clouds to fill the extravagant void above.
Waterfalls flow up and time comes to a halt but at no fault of our own.
No, my dear, this is not a place where you have to hurry.
No need to scurry from point A to B; you'll never be late nor early here.
A place with no worry, no care.
Just the sun on our faces and the wind in our hair.
Where it's easy to get lost in a trance-like stare accompanied by a multitude of colours that fill the skies,
fireflies play freely and jellyfish glow bright as they take flight in this not-so-right environment of ours.
It's only here that at night, we can lay upon the grassy knoll and talk for hours until fatigue takes it's toll.
Lip-locked and awe-struck, stuck in a gaze that could last for eons.
Where I can peer on forth into your eyes as orchestrations of unseen love may arise
and take our hearts to new highs...or cause our untimely demise.
It's only in this place where this can be possible,
or even plausible for something as great as this to be cause-able.
This place is non-existant, yet it's as real as you or I.
I just thought I'd try and toss you a hint or three so maybe you could see
where this amazing, miraculous place might be, and with a little luck you'd join me in this proposal of a journey.
I can garuntee you, 'lackluster' is not a word to come to mind.
You'll find, if you tried to look hard enough into the eyes which are mine,
that this place is closer than you know.
Take a step back and look into your body sized mirror and you can hear yourself
giggling from the other side as we're laying arm-in-arm next to the bright blue tide, on the radiant green sand.
Take my hand and I'll prove this place is not on a shelf in some store mart.
This place is in ourselves and in our hearts and all it takes is a little love, not lust.
So go on and place your trust in me. Take my hand and believe this is real.
I can feel it. I know you can

I spell certain words differently, I.E. Color = Colour, Favorite = Favourite, etc. This isn't a typo, just how I spell them! haha
