It is enough to crawl inside my fuzzy faith and sleep upon my soporific pillow, clutching to my breast my favorite God
(you know the one) who keeps the fetid, dying children far away, though quite secure within their refuge underneath strong wings of steel, then sends his fierce angelic legions hovering above my rest. ~
Lovely imagery...and a questioning of sorts. "It is enough/to crawl inside my fuzzy faith" -- is it? I feel that this is a statement that is begging to be "answered" as though it is a question. You really do a wonderful job of taking the reader on a journey with this one. Superb language, and a great example of "less is sometimes more". Well done!!!!
While many cosy up and settle down for a good night's sleep bellies well filled, many others (especially children) know not the well being of replenishing sleep, only the anguish they feel from the hunger pangs of a distended stomach crying out for nourishment!
If you are fortunate enough to be the former as opposed to the latter, do you ever ask yourself, why God chooses not to intervene ? ( I do ) !

Despite its apparent brevity, this is one of the longest, most complex poems I have ever written. Ironic, yes, but as I read it now years later, takes me ever farther on. For once, I hit it right.

That is unless we act to the best of our ability to change what we see wrong with the world, which calls for an extreme effort on our parts.

You're getting there...I hope you will keep reading....and thinking.

It is the readers who think, that I appreciate most. I crave them.

These are the wings of angels that are sent to your side to comfort you? is this a comment on the way that crawling into a "fuzzy faith" can rob those who need help of true refuge.... It seems to me that they lose their refuge when you find yours, in an unconscionable manner.

it was pure irony. Some would think of them as angelic (shudder)

faith is something we confront...not that we choose.
