In The Event 

In the event that you see this, I will spare you most

Obviously, there are things my heart wants to feel, my host 

You've kept me in sanity for longer than I could have asked

But these feelings become harder to keep masked 

I've hidden a lot, yet I've told you a lot as well

But to figure out where I stand is temptation's hell.

I write my thoughts and express this feeling

Only to investigate myself from floor to ceiling

You break my will, but keep me wanting more

Even when you don't know it, tell me, what is it for? 

I can't say you're running game, because your intent is clear

A friend is the only capacity in which you want me near

But still those things that we share in privacy 

Far away from whatever prying eyes may see

I promised myself that I'd lean on God for Love 

But this between us is more than push and shove 

You push me to be better than my current life

You shove me away from the thought that I wasn't a good wife

I'm far past rebound, but you never would have been 

Seeing as I knew you from way back when

If I can be your relief from reality, that's fine, too

Because I think that's all I've truly needed from you

Now if wanting more leads some where exciting 

Then, by all means, I'll stay ever so inviting.
