Wanting

Nobody wants to be alone

I look at my reflection

And I see a lonely face

With eyes that want protection

In someone's warm embrace

Off I go to live my life

Working day to day

Not many know I live with strife

How hard it is to say:

"I don't want to be alone

I want someone to care

To venture with me through unknown

Fight dragons, if we dare"

Once again, the day is done

Yet nothing's really new

I lie down with the setting sun

And think,

"What do I do?"
