Before The War

Before The War

A Poem by Sylla Rege'ne
"

I was really tired one night, and my mind just wouldn't stop until I wrote something, so.....here it is:

"

Collapse with the world

Feed me your anger

Wonder not if we're alright

Let not your world

Be consumed by anger

We will face the darkness tonight.

---------------------------------------

Prepare yourself, Love

Be not afraid

Choose your weapons for the fight

We'll fight with our love

They're weak, small, and afraid

We, victorious, will own the night.

---------------------------------------

When battle's done

We'll rest together

And convince ourselves we're right

When night is done

And we're alive together

We'll dance until the morning light.

I really like the odd use of rhyme in this one, it set me aback in the first stanza but then sold me on it by the end. Also, this poem has great pacing in general, which gives it a very steady flow. Very well written indeed.

Alot of emotion, gives me a great bit of imagery too. This one is a good piece of work! Keep it up.
