"

Short story ,that shows how human being is enchained by the locks of greed and desires.

"
Moss was an old leather seller who used to catch snakes and used to sell their leather. He was well known for his courage and undefeating spirit .One day he came across a road through the woods which had green grassy path. Suddenly from the bushes came a huge giant snake which had a horrifying appearance and had a blue mark on his head. He said to the Moss,"Are you the man of wickedness, who has killed many of my serpent brethren."The Moss whispered in his self that how could a serpent speak to a human being. The serpent hissed in an eccentric tone .The Moss fearfully said to the serpent,"I am an old man and have no children of mine ,who could look after me,I rely on your leather and I sell them and earn my livelihood. For I know no skill of any other work."
"If I left you alone ,I would have left the blame on me"said the serpent.
The old man felt on his knees and begged for mercy and pleaded ."I vow to you for I shall never touch the skin of any snake from now, please leave me for I am an old man full of vigour."said the old man.The King of serpents finally left him and never again ,he came in his way. Days passed ,the old man went to the village of rohalvay and now he killed more snakes than before and forgot his vow to the king of serpent .The poor king of serpent was always wandering in search of the old man but could never find him."For selfishness of man is limitless ",The serpent hissed and thanked God for not making him a human."
