Almana

The story of a lonely girl looking for love.

Everyone out there wants something in life. That one thing that they thinks will change everything forever.What is that we want and why we want it is different for everyone.For Almana all she wanted was love. the reason she wanted it so much was because her mother had sadly and unknowingly named her Almana which in Hebrew "Alone; lonely". As her mother did not speak hebrew she did not know what she had done until it was to late to change her name. Since Almana had learned the meaning of her she had made it her job to know everything about love. She watched movies,read books and listened to every love song she could get her hands on. Her parents thought it was just a faze that she was going through and let go ahead with it buying her whatever love songs or movies she wanted. Now Almana was 16 and though she had tried her best she was not or had not been in love - she had never even been kissed. She was starting to go crazy. The fear of not being wanted was starting to get to her.

Early one tuesday morning she got up and went to work at the local ice-cream shop. She had wanted to work there because she thought it would be the best place for her and her boyfriend ( if she had one) to met.In Almana's mind She would finish work at 2:00 and at 2:01 her boyfriend would walk in oder one large shake and then the two of them would sit in a booth chatting and holding ( because thats what people who are in love do,right?).But as there was no boyfriend Almana went to work in yet again another bad mood. Which only got worse when she got to work because JoJo ( the overly perky coworker who has a bad gum habit) had just had her dream date with her boyfriend of 5 months and would not stop talking about it.

" Oh Almana you have no idea how great it was. A candle light dinner and red roses!" JoJo giggled as soon as Almana walked in.

" great. I have to go sign in " Almana said letting out a small sigh. She walked over to the large sign notebook ( like the guest books at fancy old hotels) and wrote her name date and time in it. Then she turned back to Jojo. Who was smiling from ear to ear. She would mostly likely spend the whole day telling Almana all about the date she was on. Listing the same things over and over again until it was burned in to Almana's mind. Which is what JoJo most likely wanted.

JoJo was a nice girl don't get me wrong. Sweet and full of kindness. But she was also very needy. Always need people to love her and tell her how great she was. And it bothered Almana how everyone seemed to just love JoJo all the time. No one every said anything bad about her.Even when she did something wrong. No one every told her she was stupid ( even though she was far from smart). Every one listened when she talked. Even if it was something very stupid. She was the kind of nice that everyone was drawn to. the kind that no one could get enough of - or so it seemed.

To Almana JoJo had everything. And though She did not wish JoJo ill she wished that for once she could have been the one to have all the good luck. To be the girl that everyone liked and listened to.
