A Black Velvet Night

• 

In the shadows of impassion ~ ebony winds linger 

and lilac eyes glimmer with the intimacy of love

and wealth of inspiration drifts like silken petals

across the satin sheets of my heart~

 

The beating of my pulse quickens

and thrill of seduction deepens

as you press closely the space between us;

and solace of night comes alive

like a purple orchid butterfly

in a cocoon of candlelight~

 

Within delirious pupils are ephemeral diamonds

and tears of iridescence on edge of insanity~

 

Amorousness of your fevered kiss

melts upon the afterglow of naked lips;

I tremble as you sigh and whisper softly my name

as sultry winds claw down the windowpane;

and Au Naturel bodies bathe in moonlight

within potion of a black velvet night.

Black Velvet has so many connotations and it is nestled here among many other gems and delights Rose. You always walk the tight-rope of earthy and pure love in your writing that the reader feels they are wobbling along trying to imitate your expert balancing skills - sometimes getting hotter and more excited than require; sometimes almost ready to fall over in sheer dreaminess.
