Gales of the Wind

Gales of the Wind

A Poem by SyberRose

He had quietly drifted like a sailboat

in the turbulent gales of the wind

Sunset vanished within tears of her eyes,

as salty breezes kissed her skin~

She sat upon the dock of disbelief

as the moonlight took her hand,

as the discontented waves

crashed upon the ivory sand~

The shadows of the past linger

as lavender twilight appears,

and their footprints upon the beach

are now embedded in her tears.

Lovely portrayal of new found loneliness. How something so large as our hearts can still be filled with sorrow, and how easily it can be broken. The vastness of the sea scares us, for we fear that our loves ones will lose their way. Enjoyed. :)

Thank you...yes the sea is very large and mysterious indeed...glad you liked Soma...:)
Such forlorn eloquence in the telling words of a broken heart! ' the dock of disbelief ' Now that is poetry of sublime delight !

A beautiful sad tale that certainly tugs at the heartstrings ! A real masterpiece SyberRose, has to be one of my all time favourites !!

Wow, such a powerful piece, and in so few words; I always admire that. Loss can be so weighty and you have given it true life here, Rose.

This a beautiful poem expressing loss. It inspire me to write another version of your first verse which you ma keep as your own:

Loss

Drifting like a silent sail
with a turbulent gale coming in,
like a breath that we exhale
it was as though he had never been.
Dusk touched her tears like a veil
as strong salty breezes kissed her skin.

You're welcome! Reminds me of Penelope waiting for Odysseus in Homer’s epic “Odyssey“.
