Wingspan of Night

The wingspan of night soars like an eagle

upon majestic mountain tops;

Above a zephyr of moonlight

soaring freely beneath the stars~

 

And while invisible lips of the wind

whispers down the spine of the dark

Lavender rains of fulfillment

swirl within the midnight hour~

 

And as the free spirit of restlessness

awakens the dalliance of night

The sweet dewdrops upon crimson roses

still lingers in the nest of dawn~

 

 The fragrance of the morn hatches

from the shell of another day

The ebony wingspan of the eagle

disappears from the light of morn~
