The Nights Perfume

The eyes of a scarlet moon shining bright

illuminates dark shadows in the night

Bare lips taste of a kiss so sweet;

undressed are the lips from hot summers heat~

 

Ivory skin is flushed like rose petals

soft as black velvet as the night settles

The scent of romance emerges like a tear

as desire in the window of night peers~

 

And as the wind rides the stallion of dark

wildflowers wake as stem of moonlight embarks

Ecstasy tears flow down slope of mountains

as afterglow blooms in predawn fountains~

 

And musky essence of the nights perfume

impregnates a sweet insatiable bloom~

Hi Rose. Beautifully romantic. Excellent use of metaphor and simile. Skillfully crafted rhyme which I enjoy. You paint a delightful picture of this passion-filled night; the heat of it which any reader can appreciate. Flow is good as is the line to line transition and breaks. Nice rhythm and use of enjambment. Rhyme is good. Deep expression of emotion. I especially like these lines:
