Gum,Chips and Cookies

inspired by Angi's poem...Poet's desk.

I sit relaxed with my legs stretched 

 upon my gold cranberry and green couch.

The Ace computer on my lap;

my coffee table is next to me

my cookies, my Juicy Fruit gum

and my Tostito lime chips and Diet Coke.

Pillows are under my head

I wait for my muse to join me

and sometimes she stands me up.

A glass stenciled vase

filled with pink lily of the valley

sitting on my square glass top coffee table;

I hear the birds singing outside my back door,

as the squirrels eat the bird food.

My shoes and purse are under the coffee table

a box of tissues sitting on the table 

in case I write a sad poem.

Magazines and a telephone;

And I hope it doesn't ring because if it does

I don't answer it unless it's my mother.

The grandfather clock on the dining room wall

is chiming on the hour.

I can see the gold anniversary clock's pendulum

moving back and forth as it sits across the room.

It is telling me time is passing... get to work.

We all need that personal space to write or even read and you have painted a beautiful scene in our mind about yours that is lovely. Some people like to write in nature or even in cars while travelling...Well done as always ...Glad to know Angi is the inspiration...:)
