Gum,Chips and CookiesA Poem by SyberRoseinspired by Angi's poem...Poet's desk.I sit relaxed with my legs stretched upon my gold cranberry and green couch. The Ace computer on my lap; my coffee table is next to me my cookies, my Juicy Fruit gum and my Tostito lime chips and Diet Coke. Pillows are under my head I wait for my muse to join me and sometimes she stands me up. A glass stenciled vase filled with pink lily of the valley sitting on my square glass top coffee table; I hear the birds singing outside my back door, as the squirrels eat the bird food. My shoes and purse are under the coffee table a box of tissues sitting on the table in case I write a sad poem. Magazines and a telephone; And I hope it doesn't ring because if it does I don't answer it unless it's my mother. The grandfather clock on the dining room wall is chiming on the hour. I can see the gold anniversary clock's pendulum moving back and forth as it sits across the room. It is telling me time is passing... get to work. ©SyberRose
