Keyboard Dancing

Would you like to dance upon these keys?
where so many poems are hiding~
Fingertips maneuver over stair step letters
and magically my fingers are gliding.

I can tap dance across a keyboard
and make it sing like a tea pot in the morn~

Drink coffee while writing a nursery rhyme
or make it warble like a French horn.

I'm not saying i'm Ginger Rodgers
and i'm certainly not Fred Astaire~
But I bet they couldn't write poetry
because they say ~ they never had an affair~

Would you like to tap dance upon these keys?
I'm not Ginger ~ but can bleach my red hair.

A clever write and nice interweave of subjects, I found this quite amusing and nostalgic. I am remembering that the only people typing, maybe in the background, in their films would be proper secretarial typist doing 120 words a minute! No one else typed. The heavy clatter of keys, the smell of typewriter ribbon and the whizz and ring of the release lever.

Not sure I can dance like Fred, but I am willing to give it a try. Rose, this was fun, I am a fan of Fred and Ginger and just reading your poem floods my mind with wonderful melodies of the old films but also brings to my eyes the beauty that is you and your style. tap dancing sounds like the movements of fingers on a keyboard...but not sure what dance they are doing in the photo...probably a foxtrot or something..it was popular back then I think...thank you for peeking in..Rose
