Dreamweaver

A Poem by SyberRose
"

Painting by Josephine Wall

"
Interlaced threads of luster and silken seams
Weave a fantasy of gold taffeta dreams
Cross stitch kisses, promises and love notes
Embroidered whispers upon a sea afloat
Knit one purl two, a blanket under the stars
Needlepoint goblets of red wine afar
A gold cable stitch on left hand ring finger
A chain stitch linking our lives together
Before the bobbin soon comes to an end
Hurry...spin him into this dreamweaver's blend
As this interweaving dream stitches to a close
Finishing with satin stitches and a red rose

"Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens".... I Love this. The font is tiny, but after copy/pasting it to a text document to make it larger, it was seen to be a most wonderful poem to read!! It also reminded me of a song I know. The language is gorgeous with the perfect timing and this silky swell of beats going up and down and ending the lines on these perfect little notes. This was fun to read, Rose.... The only thing that kinda messed with the "rhythm" within these pretty words, was where the lines read like this to me: This is how it is, This is how it is, This is how etc..... Wonderful job and to throw "purl" in there was awesome. To even make the connection in lines between such a rare word and the sea was very nice. xoxo -Mark

It was FUN reading... the type of piece that makes the spirit of a writer seek out pen and paper! :)
BRAVA!

A wonderful metaphor carried through deftly. And with your usual smooth romantic style. I was swept away wiht the elegance of this one.

Hahaha. You are welcome...:)
This poem flowed so fluidly, and like a dream so lucidly. I really don't know what to say. I love the poem, and the flowery imagery provided. Dreams woven like the fabrics worn, are fantasies we all enjoy, although we do not weave it ourselves and have no control over it, we revel in the ride no less. Have to say it twice, but I love this poem.

(Just a suggestion, maybe instead of 'far' you use 'afar' or 'a far'? Completely unimportant, but I personally think that it would sound a tiny fraction bit better.)
