An awesome crown of snow-capped peaks
along the borders of the Alpine.
While sun sips from brim of the morn
with sweet orange clementine.
In the snowy kingdom of another day
firelight burning within an Alps chalet.
While Venus shining with romance
within the twilight of windsongs dance.
Statuesque pine trees gently bow
upon mountain slopes on display.
Midnight blue and pink velvet clouds
blossom within a flowery bouquet.
The cresent moon shines bright within
the majesty of the Swiss mountains.

Thank you so much...glad you enjoyed this piece...Rose:)
The flowing words of your sonnet took me on a magic carpet ride through the Alps...a place with great meaning for me since my father passed away in Switzerland. Gorgeous imagery in this well written poem. Lydi**

I'm glad I could take you there Lydia...and glad it touched your heart...Rose
This is a lovely sonnet, Rose (there is a sonnet contest being held atm for Verse Magazine). Your words flow across the page so eloquently and with beautiful imagery. I could feel the snow and see the sunset perfectly. Beautiful, just stunningly beautiful.

Ah, a gorgeous descriptive poem - not there for anything except to appreciate simple beauties, a taste of winter as the sweltering summer descends upon us. I could see the bright orange on white as the taste of the clementine lingered.
