From the first line to the last I was drawn in and could not take my eyes from the page. The raven is many things to many peoples, and the way you describe what it is to you is enchanting. A dark lover indeed.
In my opinion, the fifth stanza is the best. A longing call, an invocation, a heaving sigh, an invitation. To your muse. This is a call to a writer's muse, and a rather sultry one at that.
I enjoyed this immensely.

thank you Caradoc...nice to hear from you...and Im glad you enjoyed this piece...Rose:)
A amazing poem. I like the use of the raven. A bird of mystery. I like the gentle hope and desire in the words. Artwork was beautiful and a powerful tale in the excellent poem.

Thank you Coyote...so glad you enjoyed this one...yes Poe made the raven very popular ha:)
There's danger dancing all through this passionate write; and you appear to welcome it with eager arms and hopes!
Sweet metre here: 'In the shadows of dreams ~ and passion of abyss~~ I hear you call my name ~ and I long for your kiss...'

Thank you so much Emma...Im happy you enjoyed...:)Rose
I love the personification of "The Raven", and the way that you have dreamt it into being as both a harbinger of light and dark, love and shadow, because traditionally the poor Raven gets a bad rap it seems. Your imagery is fantastic...from "bed of crimson lace" to "limbs doth embrace" -- so many wonderfully rapturous pictures to choose from. This kept my heartbeat up as I read, and each stanza seemed to get stronger until the final crescendo "You are finally here...", which I think was a brilliant ending. So, nothing but praise for you on this one, my friend!

thank you so much Sye for those sweet comments and compliments...much appreciated...:)
I love it, it's very dark in a way but it has a sensual feel. Assuming that's your painting, it is lovely. Great poem.
