The Poet and The Shadow

The Poet and The Shadow

A Poem by SyberRose

The poets pen we shared together
has run out of indelible ink~
The last chapter has been written
sweet words I no longer drink...
Your free spirit within the pages
drifted from east to west~
A chapter in this novel
I wondered...but issues
went unaddressed...
The chapter...Unfaithfulness
turned out to be a  volume,
a volume of mysteries and lies...
The saga of our love is over
the woman...I hope you find
A mystery about you I write
once upon a time...
You the main character in this book
and me on sands of true hearts bay~
You Mr Butterfly...fluttering around
Madam Butterfly I portray...
This drama I write in pages of my mind
you could of starred on broadway~
but Mr Butterfly...now a shadow
a shadow in a neighborhood play.

I was lucky. I was station in Monterey, Ca. in 1991-1993. A lot of writers sat in coffee shops. They wrote, play the game of chess and shared advice. This poem reminded me of the old men and woman. There was a sadness in them. Writers need reason and purpose to write. When we run out of reasons to write. What is left? I like the way you brought to life thoughts and places. Thank you for the outstanding poetry.

I sense the deep pain and disappointment in this honest write that is full of unaddressed issues between both of you ...I also feel a little sarcasm towards his wily ways...Bravo...:)
