Dreamer

A Poem by BlueRibbon

Hold off on gratitude,
An end foretold by a light withdrawn.
Matured walls hold the kindred within.
An escape from reason,
Fools to think gold lies at the end of an ignorant journey, and are we to blame for wishing more out of life?
How are you so sure of a light that can't be extinguished?
How are you so sure that all of this wasn't coincidence,
Mishandled and rejected.
Convulsions signal realized injections.
The space between you and I leaves no hope for a pure inoculation.
This pride still grows.
Woops there I go again,
Projecting big words into a small basin,
Basically hoping to reach more than what my eyes can see,
Basing my belief in people who don't believe I belong,
But that's my wandering soul wondering if it will ever be home.
Behave for the controllers,
Just a pawn in an ever changing game,
With no hope of ever taking control.
Why am I still here fighting for momentum,
Why am I still alive,
If I keep putting my faith and words, my being,
In people who don't care if I survive?
I am the dreamer.
