The Spirit Of Eiza

The Spirit Of Eiza

A Poem by BlueRibbon

A watchful reminder of the last choice,
A constant burden that love is looked at like a vice rather than a healthy addiction,
But it was pleasurable when I watched you dance.
Took a shot for every time you took a shot at me,
Drowned 40 nights in 35 proof neuralyzer fluid.
All my confidence drowned in excuses branching from self doubt over all of this.
What if you don't love me, but the image of me?
These dress up games.
Left on the floor in absolute mistake,
Left unconscious after the last absolut take.
Trying to black out a night when I found out your heart was a fake.
I rescued a fugazi from a vault of diamonds on the word that you were valuable.
I maxed out my cards too.
I used to feel it too.
Now I'm laughing at the thought of us two.
Greater risks to hold myself together,
To stop a hell gate of fury reconciled with a peaceful sentence of death and a piece of heaven.
Slow down.
Let's wait till the sun rises.
And our spirits float away.
