A Hated Heart

Do you know what it’s like to have your feelings tossed up and down for no one’s benefit but your own?
To watch as people take pieces of you and every time you try to do the same your heart and your mind don’t allow it to follow?
You sit there with this empty shell of what you could be,
Stronger,
Tougher,
Edgier.

But instead you get a return of 
Broken,
Angry,
Cracked.

Have you ever noticed that then, you finally find your voice, and someone comes along and praises you for it, and you cry tears of joy over it, because someone finally appreciates the broken mess you are, and then BAM.

All you want to do with that joy is shove it back into the faces of those who used you?

And then you realize it’s pointless, because their misery does not bring you happiness like the joy you had when you found out someone actually appreciated you for you.

And that makes you happy.

But you sit inward with this guilt that maybe you’ve moved too fast. Maybe you dont deserve it.

You do, but you’ve backed yourself into a corner.

Do you fight?
Or do you fly?

Wow! I really liked the poem. First, because it has a closer to home feeling for me. So, this is something I identify myself from start till finish.
