Calvin's Point of view

I sighed inwardly as I watched my bestfriend or my Gamma Jeremy kiss his mate Jesy while sitting in our usual table in the cafeteria. It's not that I'm jealous of them or something. Its just that all of them have found their mate while I'm left all alone. It's been seven months since my seventeenth birthday.

Werewolves like us find their mate after their seventeenth birthday. A mate is your other half. They are the only person who can make you feel complete; physically and emotionally. They are your whole world. Basically there's three steps-meeting them, kissing and finally mating.

Finding your mate is simple, they have a unique and attractive smell. You can easily find them out if they are near. But some people find their mate in another packs. That's why I had travelled to every werewolf pack which is totally ten including mine in hope of finding my mate.

Every werewolf pack is situated in USA or Canada. Mine is located in Denver, Colorado. My pack's name is Moon Howl Pack. My pack has a population of 1235 people currently. We are the second largest and strongest pack in the world.

Someone snapped their fingers at me and it was my beta / bestfriend chris.

"Hey man! You ok? You are staring at Jeremy and Jesy for like 10 minutes now." He asked confused and I realised the mates were looking at me as well.

"Nothing. Just thinking about Alpha buisness." I said casually as I bend down and started eating my untouched sandwich which has become cold now. I can still feel their stares at me but I just kept eating.

"Okay" said the three of them varily but they lt it go and started talking about a new girl who was has started here today. I just know that the girl was a human and the werewolves from my pack are thinking whose mate she will be. It would be amazing if she was chris's mate because his birthday is one month after me and still he is also mateless like me. It's easy for all the werewolves to find their mates but not the Alpha. An Alpha can have only an werewolf mate of equal status. Only an she-wolf who has Alpha blood running through her can carry an Alpha's child. Neither an human girl nor an normal she-wolf cannot carry an Alpha's child. There's never been an Alpha's mate who was human, normal she-wolf or an Beta/Gamma she-wolf. She-wolf of Alpha Status are hard to come by as there are only ten packs wholly. That's why it's so difficult for male Alpha's to find their mate. And that's why I'm still mateless.
