What's left of me

What's left of me

A Poem by Lily

Is this really what's left of me?

Is this what other people see?

I've left all my dreams behind

I feel like I'm losing my mind.

Has life always been this way?

Setting life at bay.

Letting all my hopes run,

To die in the sun.

Have a second chance,

This time don't dance

And don't forget your dreams

And drown in your screams.

My second chance past

Life never does last.

Everything is done,

Nothing left is fun.

Great flow, beautiful heart felt and raw emotion, a masterpiece of poetry that is a window into the human condition. I am truly impressed.

I think this is nice. Parts of it don't sit well with me, because my personal view on poetry is that it usually means being a minimalist when it comes to choosing words, but that's just a personal style.
The second half in particular strikes me, but maybe that's because I feel that I can relate, but it also seems to have more feeling in it, in comparison with the first two stanzas.
Overall, it's fairly well done.
