Mom

Mom

A Poem by Alys Jackson
"

RIP Mom

"
You were to me,
What a key was to a lock;
The knob to the door;
The sun to the sky.

You left me here,
In this deserted place;
Unsure of where to go;
Unsure of who to turn to.

I know it wasn't your fault,
You tried and tried I know;
But yet you still left me;
Alone, Apart, Afraid

You were to me,
What a key was to a lock;
The knob to a door;
The sun to the sky.

RIP Mom

You may be surprised to know that your feelings and poem relate to my life too as my mom
left me when I was young the same as you,"Alone, Apart, Afraid".
I pray for the eternal peace of your mom.
I adore your profound love for your mom.
If the photo is your mom's?

So very sad yet so beautifully written. This piece is simple, yet not easy, subtle, yet right in our faces, Quiet, yet it screams of the pain of your loss. I am sincerely sorry for what you have had to endure and hope that the sun will shine at its brightest for you.

oh my, yes, i see what you mean by "helping you get through". what a loving tribute to your mom. my mom passed in 07 on Dec 15th, so, as you might guess....i have a tough time appreciating Christmas. it is good that you put your passions into writing. i have found it quite helpful. well done! keep up your passions, always!
