You're No Longer NeededA Poem by S. OverstreetI hope you enjoy.“A storm is coming.” My heart declares to my mind, As the wind picks up and the sky grow grey. No one seems to notice, To focused on their own views. Views that are mostly corrupted by selfishness and greed. The words bleed from my inner core, On to this page Leaving evidence of my existence. The only evidence that will be
found. For my profound metaphors, and manipulation of phrases Will shock and amaze even me. My rebirth is going to be so original. It’ll beat the 1 with the virgin in a strange land. I am far from inferior. More like directly related to the kings of all. Body, Mind, and Soul Who only align when I write. Different patterns, Different subject, Same purpose. Release To be refreshed by the spring of
uncertainty. To create a masterpiece By letting my pen fall upright It’s ink screaming so loud against the blank page with blue and red lines.
A storm is brewing. Its fertility will be questioned. The lively hood of the harvest shown pity. “If only for one night” Luther Vandross once sang. A song and quote well known by those who know. I wish the same as he; I want peace and serenity for a night. If that’s all I’d be given; I’d take it.
Just to sing “Finally, it’s happened to me” I’m not trying to make a playlist. I just want to make it clear That when the storm is over, Clarity will be my sunshine And you will know for sure That the fool has gained sense. Causing your presence proves to be void of necessity. © 2013 S. OverstreetReviews
