salvagedA Poem by Melanie GenevieveThis is an old poem
I will spend my nights
Plucking your scent Out of every fiber of my being Removing you From every corner of my body Locking away intimate memories In the depths of the ocean Letting the crashing of the waves Drown out all the lingering Could haves and should haves I will spend my days grappling with the fact that i have to let memories live where we grew them I cannot send them back to you on little sailboats for there is nothing to recieve them There is only pain and storms that seem to rage on forever You never left the light on Never even gave me a way to navigate some sort of friendship Nothing was salvaged Nothing but these invincible washed up memories left here to torment me © 2014 Melanie GenevieveReviews
