Daddy DearestA Poem by S. C. McDanielFor my daddy. He is my main influence and my biggest supporter.Feet dancing in the sky, before falling back towards earth. Flying high again and again, a child calls out with mirth.
So young tis the little girl, she knows not of what will come. For now her days are for strict play, with her life only just begun.
Swinging, swinging always higher, not wanting to come back down. Always laughing little child, never will she frown.
Singing, singing, always higher, Pooh corner never ends. Daddy sings of Christopher Robin, and all of his forest friends.
Next we run past the world, Trying to meet the sky, The Queen Anne's lace are pulled from root, With hopes that they would dye.
Pink, and yellow, purple too, she loves all colors for her lace. This little girl now a woman, looks like daddy in her face.
Swinging, swinging always higher, Daddy dances his daughters dance. He lifts his baby, now a bride, He cried too by chance.
Singing, singing, always higher, Daddy always knows just what to say. His precious baby, now a bride, Will always sing, what he sang.
Daddy dearest, please stay with me, I don't want Poohs corners end, to be. I want you to sing for my baby too, So that they can fly high like me.
