Lies in LoveA Poem by S. C. McDanielA little bit morbid.I fall down to whats waiting, though I do not know what is. I cry as I am swaying, he took what isn't his.
Tears pool in my cold sockets, not knowing what else to do. As he puts it in his pocket, and tells me “I love you.”
That person only lies, my mind wants to say. He prays on those who fly, in feathers they will pay.
He plucks them bare to ground them, while whispering false words. The only thing he loves is him, though like a shepherd he does herd.
Oh I weep for those lost sheep, as I was once one too. Though now I lay in eternal sleep, in death his words are no longer true.
He hid that knife so well, in his jean pocket first. Then in a dewar it soon fell, before it again began to thirst.
Soon after I made a friend then, her name I never knew, She too had once loved him, he had caught her as she flew.
As he killed me he said he loved me, I know not if it was true. I suppose though if I had waited to see, I would have told him we were through.
Or at least I hope so, as I once thought that I was smart, However I hope maybe life was just a show, and in death I'll have a new start. © 2011 S. C. McDaniel
