Ordinary

When she first met him, he was nothing more than ordinary.

A plain face to go with the even plainer clothes that he wore that night.

When he approached her, she was full of so much anger.

Didn’t he realize she had her eye on something more sophisticated?

The days turned into nights, and then eventually turned into years.

That ordinary boy turned into the most amazing human being she had ever had the pleasure of knowing.

With him he brought courage that inspired her to face her biggest fears.

With him he brought spontaneity that forced her to have the fun that she could’ve never experienced on her own.

His presence was the only thing that felt right to her.

His presence showed her what it felt like to truly be at home.

She could never find the proper words to use to describe him to others.

To describe the feelings that came over her when he was around.

Feelings that took over her entire body, mind, and soul.

These feelings for him overwhelmed her heart. 

Everyone was rooting for them to be together, but it wasn’t that simple.

If only he had ever felt the same way that she did.

Now she is not only speechless when it comes to her feelings for him.

She is speechless because he is gone, and she knows that she will never get them back to where they were. 

His absence has overwhelmed her heart with feelings of sorrow. 

She let him go peacefully,

Even though she knew the scars on her heart would never mend. 

That ordinary boy walked away with her heart and never looked back.
