Chapter 2- Leaving Nightmares

Someone's POV

"Hi, Mrs. Feir. Is Christopher home?"

"No, dear. He's not. Why?" Mrs. Feir just put his glasses doen the bridge of his nose.

"Nothing, just wanna chill out. Anyways where is he?"

"Oh, he's in Florida."

Damn that kid. He just left without saying his going to Florida. Really? I'm gonna get back at him once his back

 

 

Christopher's POV

I'm in my cousin's house and she just hit by a book in my head, she thought I'm a stalker or a thief or something

I never seen her in like forever. But I must admit she's damn pretty well, it flows in our veins.

"Sweetie, close your mouth, the fly will go inside", she was still dazed when I said where going to Cali.

"No! I'm not going anywhere with you. What if you're just saying your my cousin and the moment I go with you, our route will become in russia where you cans sell me and my organs"

I laughed at her outburst. "No, I'm not going to do any of that. You have a wild imagination you know. Here, call my mom, so that you'll know"

*Ring ring

Hello? Christoph, are you okay? Did you find your cousin yet?

"Uhm... hi"

Oh. Cassandra, is that you? Oh my God dear. How are you? I'm your aunt Mia. Your father's youngest sibling. Do you remember me?

Yah, Aunt Mia. Yes I remember her. She visited us twice

"Uhm, yes."

Good. Now pack your bags and your going with Christoph and your living with us from now on.

"What? I'm not going anywhere. My family is here. They are here. I'm not leaving!"

Oh, Cassie. I know what you feel. But your father said that when he's gone, I'm gonna take care of you and oh well your brother also. But you know that his... Mentioning my brother just feel a pang in my heart. Just come live with us. There is only me and Christoph, I really don't mind having a girl bonding moment with you. Plus, I can take care of you and you don't have to worry about anything because so far I'm doing great with my job.

"I can take care of myself! I'll find a job and eventually support my studies."

Okay, here's the deal. You're still 17, so practically you don't have any right to decide by yourself. So, just live with us for a year. Then, when you turned 18. You can do whatever you want to do. Deal?

I took a deep breath and sighed. She's right, in my state of mind I can't take care of myself. A year won't hurt.

"Deal"

 

After we said our goodbyes and see you soon. I hand the phone back to my cousin.

"So? pack your bags. Chop chop. We'll be leaving tomorrow"

And with that I went upstairs. I already finished packing and I decided to freshen up and changed in my pyjamas.

I was lying in my bed when a knock came.

"Come in!"

It's Christoph.

"Uhm, where should I sleep?"

Oh. shoot I forgot.

"You can take, the guest room on the left"

"Oh, okay. Thanks"

As he walk out the door I called him

"Uhm, Christoph?"

"Yeah?"

"Will you sleep with your earphones on?"

"Why?" he ask me and face a mask of confusion

"Just sleep with it."

"Okay" with the hint of uncertainty in his voice

"Good night"

"Night Coz"

 

Christoph's POV

It was already 1 in the morning and I just can't sleep. I decided to walk out my bedroom and went to kitchen to grab some juice. I suddenly stop when I heard a scream, the scream was not so loud but it sends chills to my bones. I follow the scream and it lead to Cassandra's bedroom. Was she attack? Is there someone in the house? I push the door and the screams are now louder. She's having a nightmare. I run up to her bed and shake her. She's crying and screaming. Oh my God, I've never seen someone like this.

"Cassie! Cassie! Wake up!"

She fluttered her eyes and eventually see me. It was swollen.

"Christoph? My mom... my dad... Cole..."

"Shh.... it's alright sweetie... It's alright..." I hug her tight and rub her back to soothe her.

 

After a few minutes she finally calm down.

"Why are you here? Shouldn't you be sleeping?"

"Yeah, but I can't sleep."

"Haven't I told you to put your earphones on?" She was angry and feel ashamed

"Yah, but I was going down the kitchen when I heard you"

"What was that Cassie? How long have you've been having nightmares?" 

She looked away and a tear escape her eyes again

"Hey, no more tears" and I wipe it with my thumb

"The day when their all gone" she whispered

She's been dealing with this for almost 3 months now? She's been screaming and crying every night. But that's not it bugs me, she's alone here in the house. When she woke up from a horrible nightmare, no one soothes her?

"Goddamnit! Cassie! You've been dealing with this alone? How come you never contact us or something?" I was furious, I know we are not that close. But seeing my cousin this vulnerable it feels like somebody just punch me in my face

"I-I don't know, it just didn't cross my mind, and as you can see, I barely remember you"

"It's okay, come here" and I engulf her with a hug

"Cassie?"

"Hmm?"

"I know I'm not as good as your brother but from now on, I'll treat you as my little sister, got it?"

She did not answer instead she just tighten her hug

 

Cassie's POV

"Cassie, come on. We won't want to be late"

"Coming" and I standing outside of my house taking one last glance. Bye for now.

"You ready?"

"Yeah, I guess" he put an arm around my shoulder to usher me inside his car

When we arrived at the airport and finally hop on the plane. He reach for my hand and look at me.

"Hey, everything will be fine now. It'll be a good change. I promise" and I squeeze his hand

A good start, I actually enjoyed it. One thing that is running on my mind while reading it, ang bilis naman ata nang pangyayari, I mean when her cousin came to pick her up, mukhang ready na lahat- passport, visa and other necessary papers...lol, that's just me, don't mind it..haha, I like it, it gives a sense of many mysterious questions to uncover. ps. i feel like this kind of style in writing, parang galing sa wattpad, perhaps it is just me..:) great start kabayan...
