Not Crazy, Nor Sane

Not Crazy, Nor Sane

A Poem by Kathryn Saunders

Not Crazy Nor Sane

~ ^ ~ ^ ~

I rock
Back and forth
Knees to my chest
Jacket holds me together
In my room
I don’t judge
Everyone is a little crazy
Or a lot crazy
That’s why my room is special
It’s decorated with padded walls
“Not Crazy
Not sane,”
I rock
Back and forth
“Not clearly crazy
not quite sane!”
My guests arrive!
They float in
I float too
We laugh
We dance
We cry
We sing!
“Not clearly crazy
not quite sane!”
Some one holds me
Needle in my arm
I calm down
I just
Rock
Back and forth
Not crazy
not sane.
