Perception

Perception

A Poem by SweeTLoU

Outstretched arms in both directions
Pointing out all these imperfections
The way I was,
the way I am,
the way I struggle
Just to be a better man

I Use the canvas to paint you a picture of me
But not the full reality
Just the version I want you to see
You see a grin,
but deep within
Would you believe I'm gritting my teeth
Using light to hide what lies beneath

It's not deceit
Maybe incomplete
But it's the version I want you to meet

The melting pot of a heart and soul
Needs good and evil to make it whole
Love and hurt, wrong and right
Darkened days and brightened nights
I love the person I am now,
but I look back and don't know how
I ever managed to fall so far

Guess it doesn't matter who you were
it's who you are.....

I've done good,
I've done the worst
I live with demons,
but I'm not cursed
Because one thing that I've learned so well
You wanna find heaven?
Walk through hell....
