Decay

I look at the ground beneath my feet
Feeling happiness that's bittersweet
I close my eyes and try to find
The people that I've left behind
Friends I've left, loves Ive lost
And the ones who payed the ultimate cost
Some I wish that I could see
Others better left as a memory

I gave away my heart to much
Now it's shards of glass that hurt to touch
The only ones who wanna stay
Are the ones I wish would run away
Imprisoned by the feeling of being free
I've become indifferent to all I see
so I'll keep my heart under lock and key
and you can have the rest of me

I'll shine my light to brighten the day
Hoping no one has to feel this way
For now it seems the flames gone cold but
Who knows what tomorrow holds
No evil thoughts are in my mind
my heart just destroys anything it finds
Ill fill your air with passion and lust
Like oxygen turning gold to rust
