No Going BackA Poem by Frank PurcellWe lost what we had.
Curled up on my bed, like a dead armadillo
Blood red eyes, tear stains on my pillow My only good friend, a bottle of Jack Cause we lost what we had, and it'll never be back! Day after day, and night after night I lose more of my will, to go on and fight Corrupting memories of loves first kiss Yeah those moments of bliss, r the moments i miss But i keep going, waiting for Gods kind hand My broken-voiced prayers make him understand I keep on living, for how long, who knows? So this is my life now, and thats how it Goes Wake up in the morning, have half a bottle of Cane Then sleep, wake at lunch, and just do it again Wait for night, but no Cane, so just go back To the only warmth in my life; a bottle of Jack All these obvious things, that im told to do "Move on, Try hard, Theres others out there for you" But i know, and Ive seen, And ive even compared And what ive seen has only made me more damn scared I wont be like a hobo, digging in dirt Looking for someone to mend my hurt?? F**k that s**t, all i got left is my pride If i come out at all, still got my head held high Cause not ONE person comes close enough to compete And THATS why i just go on, dragging my feet So im done tryna replace, just goto accept No b***h can fill this gap <3 no disrespect. © 2012 Frank Purcell |
