Oh blessed manA Poem by Simba GanaA look at man from an animal's perspectiveWho gave you such an ingenious mind, The engine behind countless inventions, You not only take to the sky like birds but reach for the moon and beyond like none other. Oh man,you are blessed. Who taught you to walk on two feet,to climb trees and tall mountains, To swim like fish and dance through the night, To ride bicycles and hunt all others, even the big and fierce, Oh man you are blessed. Who designed those arms with hands, That build mansions and skycrapers, That build huge dams and bridges across great rivers, That write books and paint, curve stone to make beautiful art and mould as well? You throw spears and shoot arrows with such accuracy, Lift and hold, big and tiny objects with such ease, Oh man,you are blessed. Who made you greater than all other creatures here? To be feared by beasts and be able to conquer them. You are king and determine the course of things on this place. Even the seas and oceans you have sailed and named. You are mighty Oh man and cause for envy. Blessed you are and must be grateful. © 2019 Simba Gana |
