answering rain...A Poem by Swaroop Manikandan
Having some pre-monsoon rains,
our farmers tilled their parched land and sowed the precious seeds. But then the monsoon evaded their rain shadowed land. I then received your message querying, ‘Have you ever noticed that every raindrop makes a crown shape when it hits the surface, though for a fraction of second?’ I maintained my silence without answering the question. I was not allowed to be in that comfort for long. It rained heavily the same evening, making all those crowns across the sown lands. I should be meeting you somehow before the harvest. ,..
