knowing death . . . (may be annoying at times)

A Poem by Swaroop Manikandan

My philosophical friend
visited me this morning.
(I hope I have introduced him to you earlier)

"What's the quote for the day?",
I queried.

"The first-birthday is to be celebrated grand
for one doesn't know
which is going to be the last",
he said.

"Oh! Anything else?"

"You seem not to like it.
I have another one",
he smiled.

"mm... tell"

"A death has too many reasons
but no one knows
the right one"

I could not resist smiling this time.
