a conversation on the last boat . . .

a conversation on the last boat . . .

A Poem by Swaroop Manikandan

'What if one misses
the last boat?',
asked my friend.

'You will be sent
another one',
I replied
while waiting
for my fifth-last-boat.

This almost leaves me hanging, ready to hear the next reply.
This poem seems almost dark and morbid, and insights impatience in me. Like there's a never-ending wait.
But then it's almost quaint and sarcastic, almost humorous.
This poem is like a chamelon, it blends into almost any opinion.
Great piece!

I found the poem too cute (thats sounds kiddish) and the person too naive....
