Out of The Blues

Out of The Blues

A Poem by Swaraj Pal Sehgal
"

The poem narrates a childhood experience , in a poetic way , a child interprets clouds as if they are demons capturing the sky with all there might (thunder and lightening )

"
The clouded sky, lauded high;

cried unabated, without a shy.

The thunder blow were never low;

As a young child, a little did i know.

why was it mourning, why was it crying;

Flooding the streets,deserting the skies.

Tears pouring down to the ground;

I looked from my window, just spellbound.

Bright Lightening in the middle of the sky;

it seemed as if, demons (clouds) were capturing the sky.

Parents away, Grand Ma sleeping;

i never knew why the heavens were weeping (Raining) ?

lying unconscious , i fell prey to my sleep;

as i woke up , saw the blues sweep

The giants have fled and the thunder is gone;

The clear blue sky has eventually won.

The heavens are safe, the birds are back;

life is normal, right back on the track

Given to my sleep, i missed the last round;

what skies did,when i slept around

Sitting on my little chair, all mum;

was just waiting for my parents to come.
