Throwing Smooth Stones

Throwing Smooth Stones

A Poem by Sorry Infamous

you do

stand thick,

as tremendous as the trunk of a tree

and I live on the back of heavy heels

or kneeling

I made you sleek

and you are on to me

or so it seems

as I slip, again

on the silk of your words

with you,

there is a wall

of cigarettes

and condemning eyes of muddied green

as if it was I

who stuffed the crimson apple

down your soft exquisite throat

and left it there,

a simmering sin

to melt away all your metallic morals.

You do

vilify me,

and yet you hold me, unchained

like I cling on to your ankles

and archaic reputation.

Perhaps we won't survive

until I am hanging from

my humbled hands

in a crooked cross

across your crisp bed

and after

in the back of your yard

Darkly sensual and brilliantly expressive; I enjoyed this write. A fine piece of poetry.

I love the inter textual connections here eve if I am only making them up in my head, it evoked a lot of images in me and that's always a sign of a poem I appreciate and will read again to dig deeper.

Perhaps we won't survive
until I am hanging from
my humbled hands
in a crooked cross
across your crisp bed
and after
in the back of your yard - Oh snap! Is it all about temptation?

I do love the way you write...

Wow I am floored again, you just have such a creative way with emotions... that part in particualr got me but the whole poem from beginning to end is full of witty lines... quite a way to describe the lastin effects of love gone bad.
