At Arms Length

At Arms Length

A Poem by Sorry Infamous

Stunning grace
birthed from bony hands
and boring marble--
the mars of age only add
to unearthly beauty
no flesh could ever possess:
one of those mysteries
time conceals with contempt.

Secrets clasped in hidden arms
that perhaps by now
have crumbled away;
did fine fingers offer
an apple to tempt fate,
or simply reach outstretched
to embrace foolish
mortals in love?

In all these years
she still warms
the coldest heart:
our Aphrodite of Melos.

What a profound write, moving us through time and space to embrace the richness of this immortal beloved... You provoke such imagery and emotion, and that's why you're one of my favorite writers...

this is very nice stuff, cold and smooth to mimic the lines of the marble . . .

soothing, smooth and flows dreamily, the entire piece is built with an artistic nature and
poetic gracefulness that is felt and punctuated by the last sentence, truly a beautiful scope of depth mused by the light of a roman candle. a real pleasure to read.

This is immaculate. It is really refreshing to read another young poet who is so well versed. I'm very impressed with just the first piece I've read, I'm looking forward to reading more of your stuff.

Also, Rimbaud is the s**t and one of my favorite poets, you're quote dazzled me right away.

Well again I find your words so creative and unique along with captivating ... I can feel love, desire, regret, and contempt all rolled into this piece leading to a jaded heart. Amazing work.
