My Carolina HomeA Poem by Saruwa
I love a southern thunderstorm, a low country shower
a light rain or display of immense power the thunder rolls like the crashing waves lightning flashes like a firefly behaves on a deep cloudless night the stars shine above on warm summer night I simply fall in love but a cool breeze blows and brings a chill that follows along a haunting refrain- a lovely thrill Nothing changes this heart of mine, a deep appreciation for the Mason-Dixon line But if ever I shall cross that threshold which takes me where life is bigger and bold I will love my life in adventure sweet but desire and longing may cause me to repeat as far as I may across this world roam One day I will return for my Carolina home © 2016 Saruwa |
