In Unity

A Poem by Saruwa

Disparate thoughts segregate the mind

Ever worse the people who hold those thoughts

Why do we create lines and hurt those who don't believe?

Whatever it is we hold

Does it matter that much?

Did you tell them you fight within yourself?

That your insides are at war?

Before you began war on them

What nonsense and hypocrisy

Or was it because of their color?

Their disposition or ethnicity?

There's a surprise waiting for you, on the other end of this life-

Wherever you go, there are people.

Different from you-

Black and white, red and yellow.

They will be together this life and next.

Lord let the day come, when we realize that these people you love- All of them. Every one.

One day we will worship you side by side, or we won't. Let them choose life, choose you. Because my heart is breaking. These are my brothers, my sisters, humanity.

And they all reflect you.
