Every Moment

Every Moment

A Poem by Saruwa

Not a moment passes by that I don't miss you

My body misses the ghost of your fingers holding close on my skin

My lips dry at the thought of the life you once brought to them

My heart tries to beat but it mutters instead

Your name it repeats day and night

Whispers like lonely breezes that caress my hair- like you once did

My soul is missing pieces you clung to - they ripped away when you ran

Now my mind drifts day and night to the words you once said to me, twice repeated and three times promised. Broken, betrayed and bereft. Those words are empty bottles in which I collect my tears at night. Every moment is yours.

Such a dark sadness here, perhaps one pulled over your head so you could hide and suffer privately Silently weeping thought after thought til there were no more to let free.

Hope to the gods here and there that you'll slowly recover, and one day, find a reason to smile again. Tisn't easy., but is possible.

This piece depicts intense loneliness of which I can definitely relate. I can feel you through every single word you wrote in this poem. Nicely written. 😊
