You Have My HeartA Poem by SaruwaThis is a deeply personal poem for me. Written in a moment of great heartache that still lingers. This lost love- it is my muse. You have my heart Not just a piece Not just a part The whole thing It sits under your bed Buried but protected But if you placed it next to yours It would awaken My feelings are immense Maybe too much for circumstances how do I state how much I love you But by reminding you Every morning you leave it Here I am telling you What you don't like Rhymes for your reasons Every night when you lay in bed The heart in your chest beats hard Once for you and twice for me For in those moments you dream my heart lives again I feel it in my dreams In my chest-the empty space Where my heart up and left Leaving me waiting on your very breath I smell you all around me My skin tingles at imagined touch If I close my eyes I see your smile For a moment tears well up Why can't you see The conversations our hearts have In their own time and space They say what I can only write For my mouth doesn't utter This pain that persists The longing that stays But my heart says it loud Are you listening? © 2015 SaruwaFeatured Review
