Heart of Glass

Heart of Glass

A Poem by Saruwa
"

It shattered.

"

Your heart was made of glass

And mine an iron hold

Woven together with threads of love

Somehow, we were perfectly fitted

But one day your heart inches closer to the edge, my grip, it grew tighter

As I held you close I heard it crack

With one hard blow you shattered

I shattered too because what you didn't know

Was beneath my walls and hardened mask was too a heart so fragile

You left the pieces and shattered me too

Alone and helpless what was I to do

Now separate our hearts slowly beat asunder

Crying for each other I hear the pieces shudder

If they could only move closer and rebuild one another

Perhaps love the pain could quell

But will I know, a full heart again? Only time will tell
