i think most people these days only journal because a therapist tol them to. however, it is an extremely healthy practice, a form of meditation. the last stanza was powerful, moving. it is in our diary where we discover ourselves. and this work speaks of that power so many underestimate.
Writing over time is fantastic therapy. If you can commit to being honest with yourself over a long period of time very serious issues can be overcome. Most of us succumb to the lies... we forget how we really feel about ourselves. Writing helps us avoid that, as long as we hold ourselves accountable. Which is easier said than done... not everyone experiences "accountability" the same way.
