Purgatory

Purgatory

A Poem by In Em's Wonderland

Within my chest there rests a black hole
living in purgatory,

a grey world where I am already dead
with bruises on my hands.

I open my lips to speak
& I found I had no answer.

This is short, but powerful. This is my cup of tea seeing how I like my coffee black. Well done.

Here, the use of metaphor does work..The piece doesn't rhyme and is very brief, but at least the writer has separated it into verses. It's possible, that this write is purely describing from her imagination. Or, inspired by a real incident; or something which she actually experienced herself? I find this one to be rather dark, reminding me of death; or despair perhaps. Of course, only the writer knows for sure.! This site has an Author's Note section, which some writers find useful; to say a bit about the different contexts or purposes of their work.
