An Orphan Kept

An Orphan Kept

A Poem by In Em's Wonderland

To sail in waters uncharted,
we're all orphans.
A sunken chest
on the ocean floor.
A flower deprived of sun.

To be guided into arms
that feel like home.
Dirty kids count
backwards from ten,
flowers come out
of their mouths
delivered whole.

Warm breath in my ear.
You ask me to stay.
Time suspended
now I am kept.
Once I slept,
it was soundly.

alone we sleep soundly....together we lie listening for sounds...
I like the metaphors in stanza two.
"flowers come out of their mouths..."
Wow...good work...
